Cute Piggy Bank Wallet

Ha! Isn't it cute?! I saw this piggy bank wallet on Whip Up and there's even a free tutorial on the creator's blog, Nosey Nest! She makes all kinds of cute critters! Check it out - it would be a darn cute children's gift. I got a chuckle out of it and immediately thought of my mom. It may not sound complimentary to say that pigs remind me of my mom, but there's a little story as to why. For as long as I can remember, my mom has had a large collection of piggy banks. At one home, my dad built several long shelves on the kitchen wall to display them. Piggies of all sizes and colors that traveled home to her from all around the country and the world.

And did you know there was such a thing as a Good Luck Pig? Germans say, "Ich habe schwein gehabt!" or, "I have had pig!" In hard times if you had a pig to eat, you had good fortune. :)
